in the 1950's visionary larry cameron purchased 5000 foothill acres that is now known as Cameron Park the land was purchased for ranching but slowly in a matter of time he divided the area into lots of varying sizes. some historical features that are involved with this area are grinding rocks and burial grounds of the niesnan branch of the maidu indians.
